OH DEAR ME! THE THINGS WE DO!!!!!

Thursday 6 May 2010

Pip was always a happy camper - nothing seemed to get her down - and I think she is still the same! She always loved Snoopy, and the tattoo she has is a testament to it. Pip dreamed her way through life and suffered at the hands of a rather over-confident big sister. (Sorry Pip, for all you had to endure......the slaps and boots, the verbal abuse, not forgetting the time I left you in the rafters at our uncles's farm above an aberdeen Angus bull....and the time I whacked you and split your tongue......Blimey......what a baggage I truly have been)
School wasnt your strongest point. Time working in hotels, as a nanny in California, other bits and bobs, a long term dental nurse finally lead you to heading for university where you qualified as a hospital theatre practitioner! GO GIRL!
The rest is history. A few dodgy boyfriends...we all make mistakes......and finally a marriage that ended you found Mark and have set off to NZ for a big new chapter!
Pip was known for her bright red h air....and has obviously spent her life trying to disguise herself......as you will see from all the pictures!! Here are a few of our childhood memories!
With cousins, Christmas day, in the garden at Eaton Road, Ilkley.
Those "happy" days before our parents separated!

Happy Birthday Pip

Hi to all Pip's mates!

I am Pip's sister, Rachel. Recently, whilst scratching my head thinking about how I can possibly let her know how loved she is by all who know her, and especially me, I had an idea.

Pip and Mark set off on their big adventure to New Zealand last week. I am delighted that they have created a great opportunity, but am secretly rather gutted to be so far away from her after my ten years living abroad. Ironically I am now back in Blighty and she has left me! (Joke!)

As Pip will be celebrating her 40th birthday on May 11th this year, and may have her first pangs of homesickness around then, I pondered how I could create some kind of elaborate birthday greeting for her to wake up to!

This is the result.

I have sneakily set up a blog with an email in Pip's name. Once this is presented to her I can pass over the info and hopefully she can then keep the blog running, using it to keep everyone up to date with her new life and experiences.

The intention is to add pictures and information about Pip that her friends can add to as they see appropriate! Hopefully this will evolve into a grand birthday greeting for May 11th.
